RESILIENCE
form | tombstone

A stable foundation makes for resilience.
This form is inspired by the “resurrection fern”. A resurrection fern can seemingly die, but revives again, as long as it has a stable structure to grow on.
The marble, wood, and glass work together to create a tombstone that is representative of my life. The grooves in the rosewood mark the events in my life that have tested my strength, but in turn make me stronger. The support provided by the glass cube allows the wood to remain upright, no matter the circumstances and represents the invisible support one needs in life. The marble base is a symbol of the permanence of the final stage in my life and the impact I hope to have on those around me.
